Busy mapping emotions to neurochemistry, Fred sieves out fragments of lyrics floating in John's memory. [ He finds human memory much messier that computer memory.] He practices sending simple riffs up to John's attention and tracking the response.

John senses a change, feels more aware of how the world effects him and pays more attention to his intuitive hunches.
